With over 25 years of experience as a professional musician, Michael Ketner has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those who have performative and creative elements to their jobs, regardless of their profession. He applies his unique skill set to help his clients reach their full potential in the areas of performance, creativity, and leadership.
Michael first became interested in the mental approach to performance after reading Timothy Gallweys’s Inner Game books. After achieving success by applying these techniques to his own craft and teaching it to his students, he now works with high-performing clients in business, athletics, the performing arts, and other high-stress fields. He knows from his own experiences how mental processes play a pivotal role in one’s success. His client-centered and client-driven approach fosters an atmosphere of learning and doing: what stands in the way of achievement under stress, and what new strategies will lead to desired results? What needs to happen to implement these new strategies on a consistent basis?

Michael’s career started in the music field as a performer and teacher, having earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a Performer’s Certificate from the prestigious Eastman School of Music. He also holds degrees from Penn State and the University of Cincinnati. For the past 20 years, he has served as the Director of Performance for the Music Department at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a candidate for the Master of Science degree in Organizational Dynamics at Penn and has earned the Leadership Coaching Certificate through that program.
